The Sandoway House Nature Center is celebrating 50-million years of fossil history with the return of the hugely popular Ice Age Florida Exhibit October 15 – January 15.
Go back in time and see life like replicas and genuine fossils of ancient creatures that actually roamed throughout Florida such as mastodons, mammoths, giant sloths, giant beavers, bison, rhinoceros, saber tooth cats and numerous jaws of deep and cold water shark species found off the Florida coast. Kids of all ages will learn where these fossils were found in Florida, how they differ in size to their current mammal counterpart and can purchase keepsake novelties to take home and treasure.
Kids can uncover fossils like a real paleontologist in an authentic dig station including digging for shark teeth and stingray barbs.
Admission is only $4 per person for everyone age 3 and up; free for members. Admission includes the hugely popular daily shark feedings at 10:30 am as well as all other marine and fresh water exhibits and entrance to see one of America’s largest public shell collections. Sandoway House Nature Center is open Tuesday - Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday Noon to 4 pm.
