Iberian Wines Series: Southern Spain wine Class and Tasting April 9, 2008

We continue our discovery of Spanish wines with this second session covering the south of Spain. Southern spain regions such as La Mancha, Vinos de Madrid, Valencia, Almansa or Malaga.

You will taste 8 different wines from local varietals such as:

• Tempranillo,


• Garnacha,


• Cencibel,


• Airen.

The South of Spain is also exciting as these varietals are being blended with international varietals and some daring wine makers are coming out of their local appellation system (such as the vinos sin ley project) to create new and luscious wines, in a similar fashion the Italian created the supertuscans 30 years ago.

During the tasting, you will eat Spanish cheeses and crackers. At the end of the tasting, you will served a plate of Spanish tapas to finish the bottles.
