Iberian Wines Series: Northern Spain Wine Class and Tasting April 2, 2008

Spain has been demonstrating a tremendous improvement in quality since joining the European Union in the 80’s. Today, Spanish wines are some of the most exciting and enticing wines on the American marketplace.

For this session focusing on Northern Spain, we will cover the wine regions of Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Toro, Rueda, Rias Baixas and Penedes.

You will taste 8 different wines from local varietals such as:

• Tempranillo,


• Garnacha,


• Monastrell,


• Macabeo,


• Xarel-lo,


• Albarino.

During the tasting, you will eat Spanish cheeses and crackers. At the end of the tasting, you will served a plate of Spanish tapas to finish the bottles.
