Canadian musician, adventurer and playwright Ian Tamblyn returns to The University Café since his memorable concert in June 2007. His songs have been recorded by Sylvia Tyson, James Keelaghan, Lynn Miles, Valdy and Hart Rouge, among others and they are the subject of a recent tribute CD, Coastline of our Dreams. His music often reflects the range of his travels, with songs associated with visits to Scotland, Antartica, and Canada from the west coast, to the Arctic Circle, to his home in Chelsea, Quebec. Tamblyn has coupled his music with environmental awareness to create recordings combining Canadian wilderness sounds with synthesizer, hammered dulcimer, and cello to create an ambient instrumental music.
