Much of Ian McFeron's writing is indebted to such 1960s folk and rock greats as Bob Dylan, Donovan, The Mamas and the Papas, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and the Beatles. Contemporary influences include Tracy Chapman, Eliot Smith, Gillian Welch, Wilco, and Ryan Adams. His music is a record of personal experiences grappling with complex emotions such as love and loss, enchantment and disillusionment, joy, sorrow, and exquisite wonder.
