Ian Edwards is a British-born, Jamaican, NY raised, and now an LA-based comedian and writer. After making a name on the highly competitive New York comedy circuit, he made his British debut as part of Stand Up Black America at the 1993 Edinburgh Comedy Festival. Back in the states he put in appearances on TV on Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo, Comic View, and Comedy Central, before his clever writing landed him a move to Los Angeles to become a writer on the The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show. Ian has gone on to combine TV writing with a stand up career. He has written for Saturday Night Live, My Wife and Kids, MTV’s The Lyricist Lounge Show, ESPN’s Mohr Sports, the Cartoon Network's Boondocks, among others. Recent television appearances include Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, HBO’s Bad Boys of Comedy, BBC’s The World Stands Up and being a cast member of MTV’s Punk’d. He is also featured on the Comedy Death-Ray album. Simply put, if you’re in the mood to laugh at yourself... life... or this ridiculous world, go see an Ian Edwards show.
