IAMSOUND CMJ SHOWCASE
Cutting through the shallow glitz that most associate with LA music is the indie label IAMSOUND RECORDS, who have brought a slew of incredible acts since their formation in 2006 including Fool’s Gold, Telepathe, Nosaj Thing, and Florence And The Machine. The company took on a life its own after starting as a branch of World’s End Management, a production management giant since 1979. Their CMJ showcase will feature headliners MEN, the remix/production project that began as an offshoot of electroclash pioneers Le Tigre. The group now consists of JD Samson (Le Tigre), Michael O’Neill (Hirsute) and Ginger Brooks (Hirsute, LTTR), heavily incorporating visual elements, socially aware material dealing with trans awareness, and live instrumentation. Also on the bill are the murky collage-pop group RESTLESS PEOPLE and the driving goth-gaze of SALEM.
