IADT Tampa IMAGINE Fashion Show June 18, 2011

The International Academy of Design & Technology-Tampa (IADT-Tampa) will present its 26th annual IMAGINE fashion show on Saturday, June 18. Held at the new Mainsail Conference Center in Tampa, the evening will begin with a VIP pre-party at 6:00 pm, and runway show following at 8:00 p.m. Miss Tampa 2011, Jessie Pelletier, will return to serve as the event emcee.

The show will feature approximately 190 designs created by 46 IADT-Tampa students and will be based on a progression of lifestyle and silhouette. Starting with a stream of white garments to provide an outlet to refresh our souls and minds, the designs will move from the beach to the street, the workplace to the club, and then will become more elaborate as they transition from cocktail to evening. The show will also have a special focus on the current economic environment, showcasing repurposed garments aimed at making our planet a little greener. The final scene will amaze you with an extravagant display of origami in fabric.

IADT-Tampa will partner again with My Hope Chest, a local non-profit organization focusing on the issue of breast reconstruction for uninsured breast cancer survivors. There will be approximately 30 professional runway models from Benz and Alexa Modeling Agencies, as well as a myriad of event volunteers, including hair and makeup by Toni & Guy. This innovative production by Directions Media will include state-of-the-art technology and entertainment. As the evening unwinds, “Best of Show” awards will be announced; attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a "text-your-favorite designer" campaign. The results will be aired on August 14th at 2 p.m., when the show is broadcast on MOR.

Inside the venue, the Promenade will have select seating at $25 and VIP seating at $50. VIP tickets include a pre-show reception as well as seating in the front rows. Outside, the Salon will have $10 general admission seats, for an intimate runway experience with a twist.
