I Want Whisky will play a free, all-ages in-store at Criminal Records on Saturday, May 28. The time is TBD, but we'll let you know soon!

I Want Whisky is an Atlanta-based folk/bluegrass/rock band.

"In 2008, in search of something new, punk rocker Cullen "Slim" Brown joined up with labor activist and guitarist Big Daddy K to complete the sound of his solo folk act. Since then, the band has grown to a six-piece ensemble incorporating elements of bluegrass, country, blues, Irish folk, and punk. In the summer of 2010, friends of the band, Containment Theory Records, agreed to colaborate with the band to release their debut 7 inch in November, featuring 3 songs from their full length (set to release in January 2011). Want Whisky's music reflects an American spirit most have forgotten: one of love, life, good times, hard work, and rebellion. Influences include Bill Monroe, Muddy Waters, Woody Guthrie, The Pogues, The Dubliners, Pete Seeger, and Bob Dylan."
