I Am Kloot (Duo Acoustic Show)
Plus Special Guest Support
Tickets: £9 Adv / £10 Door
Following their sell out show at the beginning of the year, I Am Kloot's John Bramwell and Pete Jobson return to The Cellars.
Former street entertainer Bramwell performs delicate, acoustic versions of the twisted, witty songs which have propelled Kloot into the limelight since forming eight years ago.
Band bassist Pete Jobson joins him on stage for part of the evening.
Bramwell's dark and grainy songs and notoriously provocative approach to live crowds has captured the attention of the UK music press.
He says: "There's a bit of schadenfreude in our stuff, black humour.
"I hope it gives a feeling of wanting to embrace life, to carry on and that love is a great thing.
"It's just that it comes with some baggage. I feel that we’re optimistic."
Manchester-born Bramwell began his career as a street performer in Paris, Athens and San Francisco.
He formed Kloot with Jobson and drummer Andy Hargreaves in the same highly fertile era which spawned the Doves and Elbow.
Kloot were championed by John Peel and recently released a new album of tracks performed in live sessions for the late DJ's Radio 1 show.
The Independent said: "Their live shows are often joyous, communal affairs goaded on by the dry wit of Bramwell."
Lost star Matthew Fox cites Kloot as one of his favourite bands.
