Nationally recognized author and engineering educator Celeste Baine of the Engineering Education Service Center will give an engineering career presentation with hands-on activities. Girls will experience learning about engineering careers and building a hovercraft. Members of the Willamette Valley Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers will present information to girls in grades 5 through 8 who will learn of opportunities for technical and engineering careers.
The Eugene-Lane Branch of the AAUW encourages girls to attend Hypatia Days held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Lane Community College from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check in at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is provided. To register for this event visit http://engineeringedu.com/hypatiaday.html.
