Join crews from the Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab and the EPA to help pick up trash on the river by canoe. Call David Fanslow at 734.741.2353 to register.
The 15th annual GLERL Huron River Cleanup will be Saturday April 18th, from 10am to 2pm at Argo canoe livery (1055 Longshore Dr). The cleanup is conducted using canoes from the Parks Dept canoe livery to collect and haul trash to dumpsters provided for the occasion by the city Dept of Solid Waste. Please join us paddling a canoe and picking up trash from the otherwise beautiful banks of the scenic Huron. Or you can arrange to cover a section on foot and coordinate with folks in canoes to get the trash floated to a dumpster. Either way its a fun and rewarding way to start Spring by helping out our communities most important natural resource. Feel free to forward this to family, friends or any group that may be interested in helping out with this project. The number of canoes may become limited so reserve yours early!
