HSC Preparation: English - ESL (Part 2) Course/Class April 16, 2011

This course is designed to support students in developing skills that are essential to the HSC assessment in English-ESL. Activities will involve students exploring, analysing, responding to and composing texts, including prose fiction, drama, poetry and film. Students will engage in a variety of language learning exercises to develop and extend understanding of the text- context relationship, cultural reference, audience, purpose and text-structure relationship, and language forms and features. The course has a focus on Academic English, higher order thinking and cognitive skills needed to achieve in band 6 in the HSC.
