This course will address Advanced HSC English Module A, Comparative Study of Texts and Context. It takes a skills-based approach, designed to help you develop a critical and personal response to texts in accordance with the English Syllabus requirements. The course will assist you in the analysis of a range of texts, in order to extend and refine your understanding of the concept of meaning by considering how meaning can be shaped by relationships among texts, how texts embody values (and how to identify those values) and the importance of close analysis of language variation in determining the meaning of texts. You will have the opportunity to discuss your prescribed texts, and a wide range of related texts will be discussed. Details of this event may be subject to change.
