HSBC WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS ROADSHOW
TEES OFF AT RAFFLES PLACE

In the build-up to the inaugural HSBC Women’s Champions, HSBC is holding a five-day golf roadshow in the heart of the city. From Monday 21st to Friday 25th January 2008, the public is invited to join in the fun at the HSBC Women’s Champions Roadshow at Raffles Place, with attractive prizes and tickets to watch the HSBC Women’s Champions to be won.

In addition, 15-year-old amateur golfer Amelia Yong, who will be the first Singaporean in history to compete in an LPGA-sanctioned event after winning the local qualifying competition to clinch a place in the HSBC Women’s Champions field, and Radio 91.3 DJ Rod Monteiro, will make special appearances at the roadshow.

The HSBC Women’s Champions, which will boast a prize fund of US$2 million, has already been described by American superstar Natalie Gulbis as “the first Major” of 2008 and “the first Major in Asia”. To date, Annika Sorenstam, Se-Ri Pak, Natalie Gulbis, Ai Miyazato, Paula Creamer and Suzann Pettersen are the latest star players to confirm they will be competing for the coveted HSBC Women’s Champions trophy at Singapore’s Tanah Merah Country Club from 28 February to 2 March 2008.

For HSBC customers, avid golf fans and even non-golfers, the roadshow offers a preview of the HSBC Women’s Champions tented village experience with golf-related activities. They will also be the first to see the actual trophy on display and savour HSBC’s very own ‘Champions Sundae’ created by Haagen-Dazs especially for the tournament.
