Blue Notes
The Highlands Ranch Concert Band presents Blue Notes, their first free concert of 2013, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 27 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 South University Boulevard, Highlands Ranch.
This program includes a song by “one of the most sought after musicians in America” George Gershwin, The Symphonic Gershwin which includes Rhapsody in Blue, a march by Karl King who is one of the most prolific and popular composers in the history of band music True Blue, and The Blue and The Gray (A Civil War Suite) by Clare Grundman “one of the most influential composers of band and wind ensemble repertoire, with works dating from the 1940s”.
Highlands Ranch Concert Band is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteer professional, amateur and high school musicians that provides free performances throughout the year, promoting an educational experience for musicians and the community through music, arts, entertainment, and cultural opportunities.
