Extend and apply your knowledge of employee leaves to complex time off scenarios. Analyze the effectiveness of your policies and practices and comply with complicated leave rules. You will:

* Problem-solve with colleagues on complex leave of absence scenarios
* Examine selected topics, such as fitness for duty examinations, interplay with disability law issues, and return to work challenges
* Determine how time off programs can address employees' major life events
* Analyze methods to educate front-line managers on critical leave issues

About the Presenter
Mary Topliff, principal of Law Offices of Mary L. Topliff in San Francisco, specializes in employment law counseling, training and compliance. She advises employers on all aspects of employment law, including designing and auditing time off policies to achieve compliance and employer objectives. Ms. Topliff recently served on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Human Resources Association (NCHRA).
