The Hispanic Professionals Networking Group invites you to its February networking event.

In the last five years, HPNG has been proud to have brought you many firsts. We raised the bar on Latino networking events by interviewing the Latino leaders that inspire our community. The HPNG Latino Leadership Conference set the standard for what Latino professional developments conferences should be.

In order to truly showcase our influence as minorities, I figured HPNG should include an African-American guest speaker.

Of course, me being me...I invited two.

Shawn Ward grew up in Detroit, Michigan with dreams of playing professional football, and later graduating with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, would suggest an unlikely source to inspire a budding passion for fashion.

However, in the case of Shawn Ward, the other identical twin brother and second half behind the footwear-designing duo of Detny by SHANE&SHAWN, his surroundings and experience were just the beginning.

With the hustle and bustle of the big apple and the infinite ways to turn success in the city, all that New York had to offer quickly inspired Shawn. With eyes wide open and the inspiration to start his own business, Shawn partnered with his twin brother to start their own freelance design consultancy agency, SW2DESIGN.

In just one year, Shawn's business savvy enabled SW2DESIGN to grow from humble beginnings, to one of the most sought after freelance design consultancies in the footwear industry, designing shoes for AND1, Fila, Puma, Royal Elastics, Adidas, and Converse to name a few.

As President & Co-Founder of SHANE&SHAWN, Shawn Ward manages all of the business aspects of the footwear company, including marketing, research, finance, as well as contributing ideas and design work for the contemporary casual footwear line.

As Co-Founder and Creative Director of SHANE&SHAWN, Shane Ward overseas all design and sourcing for the brand that focuses on fusing fashion and function.

After September 11th, with the downfall of the market in New York, Shane & Shawn launched their own design consultancy, SW2DESIGN.

Within one year, SW2DESIGN became one of the most sought after freelance design consultancies in the footwear industry, designing shoes for AND1, Puma, Fila, Royal Elastics, Merrell, Airwalk, Converse, Lugz, and Wolverine boots to name a few. With the success of SW2DESIGN, the twin brothers naturally progressed, creating a footwear brand of their own.

The line called SHANE&SHAWN is inspired by the lifestyle of jet setting individuals who demand style with uncompromised fit and function. Both men's and women's collections launched in Fall 2003.
