Hey guys. We are planning a small classroom-type session for all the HPC members, so that we all have a better grounding in photographic terminology and basic software operations. if you have any suggestions for what we should cover, please let us know.
For Fundamentals of Photography the list of topics to be covered(not in any particular order and subject to editing later on) is as follows:
1) basic camera terminology
2) Manual settings
3) Metering,
4) Exposure compensation
5) Panning, Zooming,
6) Brief historical overview of photography
7) Guidelines for composition
8) equipment basics: what is a camera, what are lenses etc.
9) Histograms
For Post Processing, the list of topics(again in no particular order) should be :
1) List of Software tools, with advantages and disadvantages
2) general corrections: contrast, saturation, cropping
3) local corrections: dodge/burn, dust removal, stamping
4) watermarks
5) frames
6) actions in photoshop/gimp
7) noise reduction
8) software and hardware limitations
