Once upon a time, Erik Scott de Bie and Rosemary Jones entered a Wizards of the Coast contest . . . and promptly lost. But something in their wildly different styles (he writes dark fantasy, she writes swashbuckling silly) appealed to the Wizard editors. Since then they've become known as Young Dragons, part of a group of new voices exploring the popular Forgotten Realms.
On July 8 at the University Book Store, both authors will be signing their latest work and discussing how they ended up writing for Wizards of the Coast, their suggestions for launching your writing career, and reading samplings from two very different novels set in the fantastical city of Waterdeep: Downshadow by de Bie and City of the Dead by Jones.
Both authors are Seattle residents.
