Many years ago, the speaker gathered some friends with children of the similar age group and set up a Kids Club. The motivation was for spending meaningful weekends with the kids as a family. The Club had organized enrichment activities in a fun and engaging way, sometimes with creative games and typically with hands-on experiments or experiential learning. The activities were conducted indoor as well as outdoor, including a treasure hunt round Singapore, and other field trips.
The Kids Club activities span the sciences, mathematics, engineering, geography, language, history and even social and cultural aspects. All the Kids Club birthday parties were so unique that many other friends looked forward to being invited to the celebrations. The Kids Club was run till most of the kids became teenagers. The outcome is a very strong fellowship and friendship for both kids and adults, with many fond memories that will last a life time. At the workshop, the speaker will share experiences and insights of how the Kids Club operates. Some sample activities will also be used for illustration.
