Have you ever been in a bar and seen a beautiful person that you wanted to talk to and when you finally worked up the courage, the first thing out of your mouth was something about the obvious synergies between the two of you? Of course YOU would never do this but some people would because they think that is how you build relationships. Truth is, if you have any hope of making it past first base, you are going to have to try a lot harder than corny one liners.
Saul Colt, who was recently named as one of the iMEDIA 25: Internet Marketing Leaders & Innovators and has been called one of Canada's best community builders/experiential marketers, knows a thing or two about marketing and building a community for some of Canada's best brands. From helping bring the Zip Car Franchise to Canada and growing the Freshbook's online invoicing community to his current role as Lead Evangelist at Thoora.com, Saul has tried and learned many things. But he still believes that the best way to build a community around your product or service is to simply treat your customers like the prettiest girls in the room.
Some of the questions Saul will cover:
* How to engage a community?
* Who do I turn to for help?
* How do I recognize opportunities?
* How do I differentiate myself/my brand?
* How transparent should I be?
* Should I make out with people in the name of work?
Saul will kick his talk off at 3pm. Knowing him, it will be a very interactive, entertaining and informative discussion.
Drinks & Snacks will be provided.
