Nearly 75 of Houston’s fine dining restaurants are expected to participate in Houston Restaurant Week on Aug. 10 – 23, 2009. Benefiting the Houston Food Bank, the event brings together the best of Houston’s culinary scene, while offering an opportunity for patrons’ dining dollars to make a difference. Foodies can enjoy a prix fixe, three-course gourmet meal for $35 per person, excluding beverages, tax and gratuity. Participating restaurants will donate $5 of each special meal sold to the Houston Food Bank to help fight hunger.

WHY
Houston Restaurant Week was established in 2003 by restaurant journalist Cleverley Stone, host of “The Cleverley Show” on CNN 650 Radio News. To date, the event has raised more than $111,000 to fight hunger in Houston.
