Touch Of Class Records (TOC)

We would like to introduce you to a new imprint launching in 2013 called Touch of Class Records. Founder and PillowTalk member Michael Tello along with co-founder Ray Zuniga are paying homage to their fathers by continuing the family business name and artistic principle. Originally from Los Angeles, the label mates relocated and now call San Francisco their home. TOC Records puts a new West Coast label on the map that looks to showcase the distinctive deep house and raw techno textures that embody both hometowns.

Four years ago Michael Tello and Ray Zuniga started collaborating on music together and the innovative partnership, Signal Flow, was born. Their time is spent producing and DJing on the West Coast and all over Berlin and Europe, as well as collaborating with artists such as PillowTalk, Aquarius Heaven, Jonny Cruz, Navid Izadi, Strangers in Heaven, dOP and many more. They have quickly made a name for their eclectic sound and energy.

The first Touch Of Class release, “Dirty Hands E.P.”, is by the labels very own, Signal Flow, along with Jonny Cruz. The E.P., due out February 2013, contains two original compositions with vocals from Aquarius Heaven and Navid Izadi, plus special remixes in the works.

Join the Touch Of Class family for their label launch party “Midnight In Tulum”, on the beautiful beaches of Tulum, Mexico, January 14th right after the BPM Festival. Expect exclusive live performances from Avatism, Aquarius Heaven, Andres Caballero and DJ sets from Signal Flow, Jonny Cruz, plus special guests.

Aquarius Heaven

Aquarius Heaven might be new to the electronic music world, but he is no newcomer to the music scene as such: Aquarius Heaven, born Brian Brewster, is an ex reggae dancehall and hip hop singer. It was pure chance that Brian became involved with the electronic music scene after he moved to Paris in 2005, where he meet the Parisian electronic music trio dOP. After spending hours in the studio with the three musicians, Brian’s musical sound was profoundly changed. Yet, we can still hear the colors of the Caribbean in his vocals, and since he is new to the genre, his music is unbound by the old rehashed sounds and limitations of the electronic music scene. All of this creates for a very interesting musical ride. It was during the Summer of 2010 when Aquarius Heaven was truly born: while recording the track “Universe,” Brian realized that he and Clement (of dOP) had the same birthday in February, so Brian created the name “Aquarius Heaven” under which to make electronic music. This new chapter of his life was made official with the release of his track “Before U Go” on the Watergate 06 album, mixed by dOP. With the release of his first EP, titled “7 Days” (on Circus Company), Aquarius Heaven started generating buzz in the music world. Aquarius Heaven just recently released his “Can’t Buy Love” EP (on Wolf + Lamb), the single of which – paired with a dark-and-sexy music video – catapulted him into the world of music-blog buzz, before the EP was even officially released. Aquarius Heaven has only begun the journey that continues to accelerate day by day.

Signal Flow

Signal Flow is a new live electronic Dj and production duo featuring San Francisco's own Michael Tello and Ray Zuniga. The duo met four years ago in Los Angeles where they started producing together while building a strong brotherhood. Their sound, as of yet, is mysterious, but given the musical outlook of these two gentlemen, you can bet it will be deep, dark, moody and spanning across all genres of electronic music. Michael Tello's live credentials, both as a DJ, and also as a member of live/production trio PillowTalk, have been solidified as that group has been taking the dance music world by storm embarking on their first European tour this past summer. Member Ray Zuniga, a Housepitality SF resident is a skilled and tasteful DJ/Producer who has played gigs spanning across the United States, Mexico, Croatia, and Berlin. Ray is currently living in Berlin staying busy playing in some of the city's best venues: Club der Visionaire, Chalet, Kater Holzig, Salon Zur Wilden Renate, and more.

Signal Flow has a forthcoming EP titled 'Dirty Hands', featuring vocal appearances from Aquarius Heaven and Navid Izadi, along with some amazing remixes in the works that will be announced soon. The lead single 'Dirty Hands', produced along with Jonny Cruz of My Favorite Robot, features Aquarius Heaven on vocal duty. The track has been getting serious buzz since the debut live performance on Studio R (radio stream), Berlin back in October. The B-side, 'Drug Lips' features vocals from Navid Izadi, which has been getting heavy play from Damian Lazarus around the world.

The duo's debut EP will be released on their very own newly started imprint, Touch of Class Records. The label will see it's official launch event during the BPM festival in Playa Del Carmen, MX this coming January.

At present they are between Berlin and San Francisco. Given the close working bond of these two, expect them to produce something bigger than the sum of their parts on numerous forthcoming EP's.
