Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off for Whitfield County September 18, 2010

The Dalton-Whitfield Regional Solid Waste Management Authority holds a Household Hazardous Waste collection on the third Saturday of every month from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This collection is a free service to the citizens of the City of Dalton and Whitfield County. Please see the following lists of materials that we can and cannot accept and the restrictions that apply:
We can accept:
Pesticides
Latex Paint
Aerosol Cans
Cleaning Solvents
Batteries
Weed Killer
Oven Cleaner
Oil-Based Paint
Insecticides
Varnish
Paint Thinner
Pool Chemicals
Used Motor Oil

We cannot accept:
Explosives
Ammunition
Business Waste
Compressed Gases
Radioactive Material
Dioxin Pre-Cursors
Silvex
Penta Chlorophenol
2,4,5 Cholorophenol

RESTRICTIONS:

1. A MAXIMUM of 220 lbs. is accepted from each resident.
2. The waste must be in the original container and have the original label on it.
3. The container must not leak.
4. The contents must match the container label.
5. For residents of Whitfield County only
