Hot Rize is a bluegrass music band that was originally comprised of Tim O'Brien (mandolin, fiddle), Pete Wernick (banjo), Charles Sawtelle (guitar) and Nick Forster (electric bass). They rose to prominence in the early 1980s, appeared on national radio and TV shows, toured most of the US, Japan, Europe and Australia. Charles Sawtelle passed away in 1999, and three years later Forster and O'Brien brought in Bryan Sutton on the guitar to reform the band.
