Magic Theatre, San Francisco?s premiere home for new plays, continues its 2005?06 Season with HOT HOUSE?06, featuring three world premieres by playwrights shaping the future of American Theatre. The Magic?s third annual presentation of HOT HOUSE presents full productions of new plays by Steven Sater, Courtney Baron and David Rambo, beginning on Saturday, February 18, and continuing through Sunday, April 9, 2006.
HOT HOUSE?06 opens with Nero (Another Golden Rome) by Steven Sater with music by Duncan Sheik, the team behind Spring Awakening, the musical version of the Frank K. Wedekind play headed for Broadway this season. A play with music that is both richly historical and perversely contemporary, Rome creates an experimental landscape to portray the dangerous excesses of the boy-emperor Nero. Directed by Beth Milles. Nero previews Saturday, February 11 through Friday, February 17; Opening Night is Saturday, February 18, with performances in the Northside Theatre.
