James Petrucci is a self taught artist from Santa Barbara. Petrucci’s display at Hospice of Santa Barbara will express an “inner world without having a person or portrait as a foundation, just a pure emotional state” as described by Petrucci. Primarily a figurative painter, Petrucci’s exhibit at Hospice of Santa Barbara will be something new and extraordinary. The exhibit will feature both landscapes and portraits.
Although primarily self taught, he has had several great mentors such as painters Elias Rivera and Susan Contreras. Petrucci has showcased his work in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona and Santa Barbara. In 2009, Petrucci was the recipient of the William T. Colville artist grant, in addition to receiving the Arts Fund Individual Artist award for two-dimensional figurative work in 2011.
