Mimi Plumb's large-scale color photographs of horse backs, printed to the scale of the horse, will be presented during the month of February, 2008, at Space 47.
Join us Friday, February 1, from 7-10pm for the opening reception. Space 47 is an independent gallery space that supports artistic exchange and development, and aims to inspire a community of cultural entrepreneurs in the San Jose area.
Mimi Plumb has been teaching photography for the past 20 years at San Jose State University. In the South Bay she has also taught photography at Stanford University, and Santa Clara University. Her work has been collected by the SFMOMA, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Daum Museum of Contemporary Photography. Plumb has received artist grants from the California Arts Council, the Phelan Art Award, and the Marin Arts Council.
