Tonight is the first of four installments of the Hope Lecture Series:
Living in the world today, we are confronted with doomsday prophecies, terror, war, injustice and environmental degradation. Yet even in the face of this nearly stifling quantity of bad news, many people remain hopeful. What is it that fills the lives of these individuals with hope and how do they continually recommit to living hopefully in the world? Aldo Leopold once said that, ?one of the penalties of an ecological education is living alone in a world of wounds.? The Hope Lecture Series aims to counter this feeling by featuring the combined voices of distinguished faculty, students, and community members who actively and consciously choose to lead lives of hope.
