John D. Liu is a Chinese American who helped open the CBS News Beijing Bureau in 1981 during the normalization of relations between the U.S. and China. Since the mid-1990s, he has concentrated on producing, writing, directing and presenting environmental films for the BBC, National Geographic & others. In 1997, he started the Environmental Education Media Project (EEMP) in China. His award-winning film "Hope in a Changing Climate" has led to public speaking engagements on 6 continents. Liu's work provides compelling evidence that it is possible to rehabilitate large-scale damaged ecosystems, illuminating the path that humanity must take to ensure sustainability and restore & preserve the natural systems that support life on this planet.
