Home Movie Day is a celebration of amateur films of every stripe. The public is asked to bring their home movies, whether from an attic full of their family’s films, mystery reels picked up at a flea market or amateur dramas shot last month, to watch together on the big screen. Last year’s event brought out dozens of filmmakers with family scenes from around the region, from the 1930s to the 2000’s. Local film archivists will be on hand to inspect and project them on screen in front of an audience, as well as to offer advice about how to best care for films.
