THE 7th ANNUAL “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAZE” BENEFIT
The holiday season is now upon us and it is time once again for
"Home for the Holidaze 7,” the annual singer-songwriter music showcase and charity drive for area homeless shelters.
The event brings together local singer-songwriters and former Detroit musicians who are home for the holiday season. It is a chance for them to perform for a good cause, as the proceeds from the event will go towards food donations to area homeless shelters. The day after the show is spent at Costco buying cases of soup and various canned food with the proceeds. The food is then distributed to soup kitchens and food pantries in the downtown Detroit area. This year’s recipient is St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen which has been serving the needy since the 1960s and serves thousands of meals each day as well as providing medical, dental and legal assistance to those in need. Pet food donations are also collected at the event each year and distributed to local pet charities such as Cinderfund.org.
The show is on FRIDAY, DEC. 18 at 9pm. The venue is The New Dodge Lounge located at 8850 Jos. Campau in Hamtramck. Please call 313-874-5963. 21 & over are welcome. www. newdodgelounge.com.
