The Holy Body Tattoo
our brief eternity
May 9-13, 2006
?Dance as savagely precise as it gets??
? Houston Chronicle
A hit since its premiere ten years ago, Our Brief Eternity established Vancouver dance company The Holy Body Tattoo's international reputation. Gruelling and intense, the piece pays tribute to the repetitive, invisible and often unacknowledged labour on which modern ideas of progress rest. Choreographed by Noam Gagnon and Dana Gingras , and performed by Day Helesic, Sonya Perreten and Yannick Matthon , with visual and text elements from writers Chris Halcrow and William Gibson.
The Holy Body Tattoo has received both critical and audience acclaim with performances in Canada, US and Europe. Employing multimedia elements in film, video projection and music, the work of The Holy Body Tattoo explores the nature of human endurance through ideas of surrender, fragility and broken elegance.
