HOLLYWOOD TALKS SHOP featuring Burghart Klaussner April 13, 2011

Burghart Klaussner was born in 1949 in Berlin. He studied theater at the Free University in Berlin and acting at the Max Reinhardt School.
From 1970 to 1972 he was cast member at the Schaubuehne am Hallischen Tor, followed by a long career on German stages including the Hamburg Schauspielhaus, the Schiller Theater and Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, and in Frankfurt, Bochum and Zurich. In 1983 he had his cinema debut and has since then worked with Germany’s leading directors such as Helke Sander, Wolfgang Becker and Hans-Chrisitan Schmid. In 2009 Klaussner played the judge in the Oscar®-awarded The Reader (dir: Stephan Daldry) alongside Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes and Bruno Ganz.

Klaussner won “Best Actor” at the 2010 German Film Awards for his role in the Oscar®-nominated The White Ribbon, directed by Michael Haneke.

Klaussner lives in Berlin.
