Oscar®-winner (for The Right Stuff) and long-time Academy Awards® Music Director Bill Conti and the State Theatre have partnered to create a completely unique program of silver screen music hits called HOLLY WOOD AT THE STATE. This multimedia Hollywood musical revue features some of the most well-known movie scores and songs of all time and it’s an original experience you won’t see anywhere else. And a finale that will knock you for a loop! This original program stars Bill Conti, Broadway singers Judy McLane (currently starring on Broadway as Tanya in Mamma Mia!) and George Dvorsky (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Passion) and some of our state’s best performers, including: the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, the New Jersey Youth Chorus, and the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble. Tickets start at only $25. Come out and support the nonprofit State Theatre and experience an evening you’ll be talking about for a lifetime.
The show will include songs from the following movies: Rocky, The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, For Your Eyes Only, The Right Stuff, and more. The show will also include a special "Tribute to Walt Disney."
Bill Conti has composed music for many films including: "Gonna Fly Now," the theme to Rocky; the theme for The Karate Kid; music for the James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only; plus, The Right Stuff; Gloria; Private Benjamin; F/X; Baby Boom; and Lean on Me, among others. He has also composed the themes to television's Dynasty, Falcon Crest, Cagney & Lacey, and The Lifestyles of The Rich And Famous.
