Holiday Jazz Vespers December 10, 2011

The Holiday Jazz Vespers features the Atlanta Jazz Chorus under the direction of Dr. Dwight Andrews and highlights some of Atlanta’s finest jazz musicians and singers. This year’s vespers will feature singers Kathleen Bertrand and Alex Lattimore. Veteran jazz pianist Gary Motley will be at the helm of an all-star band. The Atlanta Jazz Chorus, founded in 1997 as a collaboration of the First Congregational Church and the National Black Arts Festival, works to preserve the choral works of America’s masters of jazz. Each year the Vespers feature distinguished special guests from around the country with previous stars including actors/directors Charles S. Dutton, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Kenny Leon, as well as musicians Jay Hoggard and Andy Bey.
