Participate in the National Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Join a team in the field to count winter birds. We'll begin in the morning, break for a hot lunch and then, more birds in the afternoon! Last year thousands of birds were counted with more than 40 species including bald eagles, woodpeckers, owls, kingfishers, and others. Beginners are welcome and will work with more experienced birders. There is a $5 fee for those who wish to have their name included in the participant list with the National Audubon Society. Participants can attend the morning or afternoon sessions -- or both! Stay for a pot-luck lunch -- feel free to bring a dish of your own, too.
