A College Hostel… a Boys College Hostel. It could be anywhere in India. It has boys from different parts of the country. Boys with different character traits -- the strong and macho, the offensive, the rich and manipulative, and Ananda, shy and even confused about his gender… It is the day of Holi.
Our college has decided not to give a holiday. What follows in the course of the day is the politicizing of a simple non-event. Opinions are formed, sides are taken and what then opens out is a battlefield in which the weak is crushed… crushed under his own inability to stand up and be counted. The play spirals to a climax in which the fire of Holi takes its toll.
