The New Bedford Preservation Society cordially invites you to attend its premier fund-raiser - Historical Hauntings: the Naughty and the Notorious, a Dinner Theatre Event, on Saturday, April 2, 2010, at the James Arnold Mansion (Wamsutta Club), 427 County Street, New Bedford.
Experience characters and untold stories from New Bedford’s past as you dine on a multi-course Victorian dinner with complimentary wine pairings especially prepared for the evening:
• Cream of Pumpkin Soup served w/dollop of Sour Cream
• Citrus Sorbet
• Breast of Duck w/Raspberry Glaze served w/Rice and Peas & Pearl Onions
• Roast Tenderloin of Beef w/Burgundy Mushroom Sauce, Chateau Potatoes & Green Beans
• Mixed Green Salad w/Mandarin Oranges, Walnuts & Sweet Poppy Seed Dressing
• Petite Assorted Pastries
• With the Duck a Pinot Noir
• With the Roast Tenderloin a Cabernet
Costumed characters will tell their stories, some scandalous, some macabre. The lobby of the Wamsutta Club will be transformed to resemble the old “notorious” Waverley Hotel in New Bedford, where surprise “appearances” await guests during the cocktail reception starting at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
After dinner, guests will enjoy a guest “appearance” from professional New Bedford gambler Richard Canfield, who will oversee the fun in the South Lounge “Casino.”
The Wamsutta Club and the New Bedford Preservation Society have collaborated to present this frightfully entertaining event. For more info & reservations, please call the New Bedford Preservation Society (508-997-6425) or the Wamsutta Club (508-997-7431) as seating will be limited.
