Your vintage home is beautiful but those drafty, hard to open wood windows are making you uncomfortable: How can I make my windows more energy efficient? How can I improve their operability? How can I repair damage to my sills or sashes? In order to help answer these and other questions, please join Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, the ReBuilding Exchange, Hellenbrand Glass, and Genesis Housing Development Corporation for a demonstration workshop on practical, affordable ways YOU can repair and maintain your vintage wood windows. The workshop will address: basic window construction and preventative maintenance; simple sash, sill, and glass repairs; weatherization techniques that can improve comfort and energy efficiency; and when to call the professionals.
Space is limited to 20 participants.
