Shubha Joshi has received training from Pandurang Amberkar and Ramesh Nadkarni among other practitioners of the Bhendi Bazar gharana and in light classical music from Shobha Gurtu. She has sung playback for Hindi films, such as Shyam Benegals Sardari Begum and Suraj Ka Santwan Ghoda, among others, and has performed at some august venues, such as the Sawai Gandharva Sammelan in Pune and Kundgol and the Pt.
