"Jaag Utha hai Raigad" is the Hindi adaptation of noted Marathi playwright Vasant Kanetkar's famous Marathi play "Raigadala Jevha Jaag Yete". The play explores the rarely talked about relationship between Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji. What was the reason behind an almost irreparable divide between the two? How did familial pressure influence their demeanor? Why did ministers in Shivaji's cabinet not hold Sambhaji in high regard?
