!Hina Matsuri' the Girls' Day Festival is celebrated in March to signify the coming of spring and the blossoms of the ornamental peach trees. Traditionally, relatives and close friends give these popular dolls to a young girl on her first Hina Matsuri and are often passed from mother to daughter as family heirlooms.
