This weekend of moderate – rigorous hiking will include a series of three lectures on introductory Buddhist philosophy and basic meditation techniques, including talks on The Holy Teaching of Vimalakirti. This unique program is meant to open your awareness and increase your ability to live in the moment with a greater sense of joy. The invigorating physical exercise of hiking will help purify and cleanse the body whilst the lectures/discussions will provide a source of nourishment for the mind. The inspirational lectures by Professor Robert Thurman provide intellectual and spiritual exercise for the weekend. Friday evening we will have a welcoming dinner and talk. Early Saturday morning we depart from the base of Pantherkill Mountain for 5-10 mile hike with a picnic lunch. Upon return we will unwind with a choice of either a sweat lodge by the stream, restorative yoga, or a wellness treatment (extra fee). We will end the day with a guided meditation. Sunday morning we will take a stimulating 2-mile roundtrip hike to the breathtaking views of Lookout Cliff on the Menla property and close the weekend with a final lecture/discussion.
