With over seven miles of maintained trails, the park has areas in the backcountry few people ever get to experience. This hike explores much of this area offering overviews of the Llano uplift, Inks Lake and a variety of plant and animal life. Hikes are five-to-six-miles long, are strenuous, and previous hiking experience is recommended. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear good walking shoes, bring water and a hat. Meet at the parking lot just south of Park Headquarters. (512) 793-2223.
