This is a great way to get introduced to hiking! We'll hike about 3 miles with small uphills and downhills. The trail will take us by the beautiful Black River where we will enjoy a river walk for a while and even a little waterfall. If you like bird watching, Hacklebarney also offers a home for over 100 species of birds, depending on the season. After the hike we will go out for lunch!Specs:The hike is classified as easy but it has some uphill and downhill spots. The total length of the hike will be about 3 miles long. We will walk at an easy pace so that beginners will not feel rushed. The hike should take 2-2.5 hours. As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.Sweeper:If the group size is larger than 10, we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.ONLY 25 TOTAL TICKETS AVAILABLE Basic Member Cost: $10 in advance$20 at the door (only if there is space left) Premium Member Cost: BONUS *FREE* for Premium MembersTickets Required so please register via the Purchase Ticket button.Tickets: There are a limited number of Tickets for sale. Follow the signs for 206 North (202 and 206 are together for about a mile). After 202 and 206 split, go 8.8 miles on 206 North until you reach West Main St (Local Rt 24). Make a left onto West Main street, go 1.3 miles and make a sharp left onto State Park Rd (you may see the sign for Parker Rd instead, so turn there and then make another quick sharp left). Follow the signs for Hacklebarney State Park from that point (be sure to keep to the right at the fork). From North NJ:Take 80 West until exit 27A and merge onto 206 South. Go 7.6 miles on 206 South until you reach West Main St (Local Rt 24). Make a right onto West Main street, go 1.3 miles and make a sharp left onto State Park Rd (you may see the sign for Parker Rd instead, so turn there and then make another quick sharp left). Follow the signs for Hacklebarney State Park from that point (be sure to keep to the right at the fork).
