The name Sourland is believed to be derived from “sorrel-land” which describes the reddish-brown colored soils encountered by the pioneering farmers..but this hike is anything but sour. Located on the edge of suburbia, the 4,000 acre Sourland Mountain Preserve is a great way to escape and enjoy connecting with the outdoors. We will enjoy a late-spring hike through pristine woods and rocky hillsides. After we have our fill of the fresh air the group will head out for drinks and a late lunch (totally optional but always fun).
