On September 11, our nation will remember the courageous men and women who risked their own lives to save the lives of others. Today, the military, firefighters, police, paramedics and volunteers from across the country work to protect our country. In memory of these courageous citizens, Heritage Elementary School will honor Glendale’s own heroes. The school invites the community to participate in what promises to be a touching evening, Heroes’ Night.
Heritage Elementary School celebrates Heroes’ Night to further the school’s goals of community involvement and support and to educate the students about the sacrifices people have made for our country’s safety and freedom. Fallen Soldier wrist bands reading “Freedom Isn’t Free” will be distributed to all of the students and each wrist band will include a name of a fallen soldier. There will also be a craft table set up for all the students to create cards to send to our soldiers.
Heroes’ Night commences with the presentation of colors by Luke Air Force Base Color Guard. Luke Air Force Base will also perform a flag folding and the national anthem.
