Over 100 of Oakland Youth Chorus' young singers usher in spring with an explosion of songs by and about the Brits in OYC's 2013 spring concert. From The Beatles to Adele, from Gilbert and Sullivan to Mary Poppins, from Benjamin Britten to Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Experience an electric repertoire by British composers and artists done as only OYC can do.
Oakland Youth Chorus' award-winning teen Concert Chorus is fresh from their Seattle tour and ready to bring a little Oakland swag to this repertoire. Excited about singing contemporary and classical pieces and confident they will make the audience listen to these well known and time-honored pieces in a new way.
The K-5th grade Miracle Chorus will be over 100 strong at this concert and brings young singers from all over Oakland, Alameda and the East Bay together singing lively medleys from Mary Poppins and The Beatles, as well as the finale piece "Sing" by Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber. If this song doesn't leave you with a tear in your eye and a smile in your heart, we don't know what will.
